They share a passion for helping others. They believe we can be more effective working together, than working alone. Beth Lestock and Steve Jones have both seen the impact of United Way and they are ready to spread the word and encourage everyone to support the work the organization does throughout the Geauga County community.
Beth Lestock, Treasury and Social Investment Manager for Fairmount Minerals and Steve Jones Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center have agreed to co-chair the 2009 campaign. Both co-chairs were actively involved in last year’s community wide fundraising effort that raised a record $736,773. Lestock served as the 2008 campaign co-chair and Jones assisted in leading the University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center's successful campaign.
The 2009 campaign will officially begin on Thursday, August 27th as West Geauga High School will be hosting the first 2009 high school football game that is taking place in all of the state of Ohio . The West Geauga Wolverines will play the Chardon High School Hilltoppers and the game will be broadcast by Sports Time Ohio that evening throughout Ohio. United Way Services of Geauga County will participate in this game event by becoming part of the opening program with a LIVE UNITED presentation and announcements. At that time the 2009 campaign goal will be announced and we will officially launch the fall fundraising effort
